Chainlink, the decentralized oracle network, has further expanded its integrations by partnering with Base, a Coinbase-incubated layer-2 network. With this recent collaboration, Chainlink now supports a total of 12 integration partners, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and Polygon. The integration will provide developers building on the layer-2 blockchain with access to Chainlink Data Feeds and other web3 services.
Jesse Pollak, Creator of Base and Head of Protocols at Coinbase, praised Chainlink Price Feeds for their security, reliability, and usability. The native integration of Chainlink Price Feeds into Base will empower developers with the necessary tools to migrate existing applications to the blockchain and explore innovative use cases within Base’s hyper-scalable layer-2 environment. This integration strengthens the ecosystem and opens up new possibilities for developers to leverage Chainlink’s data solutions.
Base, which had been in the testing phase for developers for several months, officially launched its mainnet to the public on August 9th. Since its launch, Base has garnered positive feedback and engagement from users. Notably, the total value bridged to Base has already exceeded $212 million, indicating strong adoption and usage of the network. Additionally, the total value locked in the blockchain has climbed to $205 million within the first week following the mainnet launch.
Chainlink’s integration with Base, a layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase, marks another milestone in expanding its ecosystem and developer access. The collaboration enables developers building on Base to leverage Chainlink Price Feeds and other web3 services, providing them with the necessary tools to create innovative applications within Base’s hyper-scalable layer-2 environment. The positive reception and significant user engagement since Base’s mainnet launch demonstrate the growing interest and demand for blockchain solutions like Base. As Chainlink continues to forge partnerships and expand its integrations, the oracle network solidifies its position as a key player in the decentralized finance space, offering security, reliability, and usability to developers and users alike.
